***2007 Vintage -- New arrival - A small trove of this
great wine was saved for me by a VERY GOOD FRIEND,
and we are pleased to offer it to our Wine Lover Friends!*** AOC PESSAC
LEOGNAN BORDEAUX. 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2007 Vintage was a "Sleeper Vintage" not well
appreciated until several years after it was bottled and
found to be very close to the 2005 "Wonder Vintage" after
Maturing in the bottle. All the fruit is picked entirely by hand. The wine is vinified in
temperature controlled, stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation
takes place in vat. The wine is then aged in 40% new French oak barrels for 13 months before bottling. It has
power and fine concentration, yielding a complex, solid wine with aging
Very deep garnet red color.
Delicate nose of light oak, toasted bread and berry jam.
On the palate, the aromas are reproduced in perfect
balance and freshness. Lovely long finish. The classic
style of this elegant wine makes it the perfect
accompaniment to rich meats; beef, lamb and roasted game.
(I LOVE THIS WINE WITH DUCK!)
*****Chateau de France also makes what I consider one of
the most exceptional WHITE Bordeaux wines to be found. A MOST Sophisticated Sauvignon Blanc. Full and Round, The Bordeaux Graves version of a Great
Burgundy Mersault! Look for it under "White" tab above under "Bordeaux"******
