Albert Bichot's 100% Bourgogne Pinot Noir Secret de Famille
("Family Secret") is crafted from a carefully sourced blend of grapes
from prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Nuits (around Chambolle-Musigny,
Nuits-Saint-Georges, Gevrey-Chambertin, Marsannay…) They treat these wines as
“villages” wines, where yields are restricted and ageing is adapted for each
Tasting: This charming wine features predominant fruity
aromas of blackcurrant and wild red berries. Velvety and silky, this wine
boasts soft, balanced structure on the palate, which end with a delicate
finish reminiscent of red fruit.
Food/wine pairing:Enjoy this wine with roasted or grilled meats,
poultry, vegetables and mild cheeses.
A PERSONAL NOTE: My Bichot contacts insisted I try this wine which I originally thought was a little "Corny". I was amazed that this wine was of such high quality. It's the perfect example of what a great winemaker can do with a few barrels of wine that should be blended rather than sold as a "Cru". The kind of wine the Family would drink as an everyday wine. Simply Charming and delicious.
Serving and keeping: Serve at 15°C - 16°C (59°F - 60°F). This wine is best enjoyed within 3 to 5 years of purchasing in order to
appreciate all of its fruitiness.
This wine is from the Superb 2015 vintage that Roger Voss, European Editor of Wine Enthusiast Magazine says is the "Greatest of the Century"
